Get Started with NeighborhoodLIFT
To start the application process for NeighborhoodLIFT® down payment assistance, you will need to make an appointment to assess your eligibility for the program. But before you can schedule this appointment you will need to create an account and upload a mortgage pre-approval from an approved lender (see list on right) as well as a fully executed purchase and sales agreement on the home you are attempting to purchase.
When setting your closing date on the home you are purchasing, please factor in the following. You must COMPLETE your eligibility determination session 21 calendar days prior to your closing date. Failure to do so could result in a delay of closing! Please read and follow the instructions below.
If you already have an account, skip to Step 4.
1. To begin the NeighborhoodLIFT application process, you must first create an account.
2. When creating your account, be sure to check “I am interested in applying for NeighborhoodLIFT down payment assistance.”
3. Once you have completed the initial steps, you will receive an email from NeighborWorks Columbus in order to authenticate your account. Within the email click on the “Confirm Your Account” hyperlink. Create an 8-character password for your profile
4. Log in to your account.
Once logged in, please follow on-screen instructions to guide you through the process. Detailed step-by-step instructions can also be found in the following document: "How to Sign Up for Eligibility Determination Session Appointments."
Please keep in mind that once you create an account, you will be required to upload a fully executed purchase and sales agreement for the home you plan to purchase, as well as a mortgage pre-approval letter from an approved lender. Once you have uploaded those items, our partners at NeighborWorks Columbus will review them. Once the documents are reviewed, you will receive an email with instructions on scheduling your EDS appointment.
