Thriving Together Atlanta
Saturday, June 1, 2024, 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
Join us for a special theatrical performance from Atlanta’s public art initiative - Thriving Together Atlanta. Following the performance, attendees will join a thought-provoking conversation about race, health equity and how we can create change for a healthier future for everyone!
People with lower incomes are often uninsured, and minority groups account for over half of the uninsured population. Health equity is the state in which everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health. Achieving this requires ongoing societal efforts to:
-
Address historical and contemporary injustices;
-
Overcome economic, social, and other obstacles to health and health care; and
-
Eliminate preventable health disparities.
To achieve health equity, we must change the systems and policies that have resulted in the generational injustices that give rise to racial and ethnic health disparities.
As we celebrate NeighborWorks Week 2024, ANDP’s community leadership initiative, Neighbors Together, is pleased to join forces with Out of Hand Theater for a special performance from Thriving Together Atlanta.
Thriving Together Atlanta was awarded a $1 million Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge grant and is a collaboration between the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office if Cultural Affairs, the CDC Foundation, National Black Arts Festival, and Out of Hand Theater.
Join us as we work together to create a healthier, more equitable future for everyone!
