Ready to take your neighborhood leadership to the next level? Join us for NeighborWorks Week!

Strengthening and sustaining neighborhoods where all can thrive requires a holistic approach. As a neighborhood leader, you can play a vital role in empowering your community for success. Want to learn more? Here are three great reasons to join us for Neighbors Together on Saturday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m.

1. CREATING CHANGE: TOPIC: Comprehensive Community Development: Why it Matters. Karimah Nonyameko will lead participants through community development models while exploring how community-building activities fit into a broader approach and discussing how new strategies, partnerships, and resources can create positive change.

2. NEXT LEVEL: If you are ready to take your leadership to the next level, perhaps it’s time to be a changemaker in an elected role. Join Ronnie Galvin as he talks with a panel of current and former elected officials about how and why they decided to take their passion for their communities to the next level by running for office.

3. CELEBRATE SUCCESS: Join us in recognizing Ms. Naeema Gilyard, nominated for NeighborWorks America’s Dorothy Richardson National Award for Resident Leadership! Former CLI member Ms. Gilyard has been a pioneer in the environmental justice movement for decades. Most recently, she successfully advocated for EPA funding to support the installation of air monitors to collect data on hazardous pollutants in her South Fulton community caused by illegal dumping, trash burning, and industrial warehouses.

Who Should Attend?

This training event is ideal for young adults (ages 18-24), adults (25+), youth leaders, concerned neighbors, adults, formal neighborhood leaders, informal neighborhood leaders, HOA leaders and members, neighborhood associations, homeowners and renters, local business owners, neighborhood watch groups, faith and nonprofit organizations - and YOU!
