Mixed Income Communities
Initiative (MICI) - Research
UPDATE
Making the Case: The Next Generation
MICI is pleased to announce that efforts are currently
underway to update and reintroduce "Making the Case for
Mixed Income and Mixed Use Communities" (MTC). In addition
to more current data, MTC will also focus attention on
matters of health and its connectedness to transportation
and the location of affordable housing. While no firm
date has yet been set, "Making the Case: The Next
Generation" is targeted for a Spring 2007 release.

Making the Case
for Mixed Income & Mixed Use Communities
In 2000, ANDP began convening the regions leaders to discuss the
relationship between affordable housing, transportation, sprawl,
land use, air/water, and other quality of life issues. What evolved
was a formal initiative named the Mixed Income Communities
Initiative. This group of concerned citizens and organizations
undertook a four-year study, in which it commissioned a number of
reports (listed below) to more closely examine the issues. The
result of these commissioned reports was published in
"Making the Case for Mixed Income & Mixed Use Communities,"
written and edited by David Goldberg at SmartGrowth America. Download
